Cougar Carwash at 984 Maple Street was the site of Youth Employment Services (YES) volunteers who were learning entrepreneurial skills on Friday July 26 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Under the supervision of YES Coordinator Daisy Smith and summer student Charmayne Old Shoes, the youths cleaned cars inside and out for $10.00 per vehicle. "It helps them understand what it is like to earn money, and have a task to do," said Smith, as the 'team clean' workers swarmed a vehicle.
This is the second year that volunteer Elliot Nemeth has helped out at YES fundraisers, and is the first time he has helped at the car wash. "I sure am having fun," he said, working on his third vehicle of the day.
