Man stabbed during Aggravated Assault in Fort Macleod

On July 20, 2013 at 9:41 PM the Fort Macleod RCMP, EMS and Fire Department were dispatched to a call of a man being stabbed on 16 Street within the 200 Block of Fort Macleod, AB. Claresholm RCMP and EMS attended the scene as well to assist with the incident. The victim, a male in his thirties, suffered a single knife wound and blunt force trauma to his head.

The suspect is described as follows: Native male, between the ages of twenty one and twenty five years old, short Black hair, 5'6" in height, stocky build. Wearing a White t-shirt with writing on the front of it, Blue jeans. The male suspect fled the scene on foot walking East on 16 Street toward third Avenue.

The victim is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

Police are actively investigating this assault and are seeking the public assistance. Anyone that may have witnessed the assault or observed the suspect fleeing the scene is asked to contact the Fort Macleod RCMP Detachment at (403) 553-4406 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)
