Livingstone Range School Division to enter a Joint Election Services Agreement with the Town of Pincher Creek

Toni Lucas, Pincher Creek Voice

At their June 24, 2013 regular meeting Council for the Town of Pincher Creek heard that Livingstone Range School Division #68 is interested in entering into an agreement with the Town to share the associated costs with running the election for 2013, to reduce duplication of services and staffing costs while also accomplishing the School Board election process.

"This is a pretty standard agreement that comes around every 3 years at election time," said CAO Laurie Wilgosh. "We always share those services,  if there is a school board election."  Wilgosh said that she anticipates that the Holy Spirit School Division Ward 4 will also want to cost share in the election.

"So, in the long run, it'll be split three ways?" asked Mayor Ernie Olsen.  Wilgosh said that if both school divisions hold their election with the Town of Pincher Creek then yes, the cost would be split three ways.

Council unanimously agreed to accept the proposal to share the election costs with the Livingstone Range School Division.
