Millarville-Stockland 4-H Beef Club holds Achievement Day

The Millarville-Stockland 4-H Beef Club held their Achievement Day on May 12th (Mother’s Day) at the Millarville Race Track Arena. We had a beautiful sunny day!!



Our program started with Multi Judging. This year we got to judge four market lambs. This was followed by the sheep show. The results are as follows: Grand Champion Market Lamb was Janelle Mackenzie, Reserve Market Lamb was Kendra Mackenzie, Junior Showmanship went to Emma Campbell, Intermediate Showmanship was Kendra Mackenzie, and Senior Showmanship was Kayla Mackenzie, 2nd Janelle Mackenzie. Next, we moved on to our Cleaver Kids Sheep Show. The following are the results: Market Lamb Class – 1st Odin Scheafer 2nd Sage Runge, 3rd Justin Watkins, 4th Hannah Supple. Ewe Lamb Class – 1st Justin Watkins, 2nd Hannah Supple, 3rd Odin Scheafer, 4th Sage Runge. Yearling Ewe – 1st Sage Runge. Grand Champion Market Lamb – Odin Scheafer, Reserve Champion Market Lamb – Sage Runge. Grand Champion Breeding Ewe – Sage Runge, Reserve Champion Breeding Ewe – Justin Watkins. Showmanship – 1st Sage Runge, 2nd Justin Watkins, 3rd Hannah Supple, 4th Odin Scheafer. Walter Schaal was unable to make it. Thanks to our sheep judges Mr. Steve Cranswick and David Cranswick who did a great job.

Next we had our Beef Show. The results are as follows: Junior Heifer – 1st Hunter Egeland (Juliet). Senior Heifer – 1st Rebecca Zutz. 2 Year Old Cow/Calf – Finn Blatz. 3 Year Old Cow/Calf – Hunter Egeland (Gillian and Julia), Grand Champion Female – Finn Blatz, Reserve Grand Champion Female – Wyatt Runge. Best Home Grown Heifer – Hunter Egeland. Best Junior Steer – Finn Blatz. Intermediate Steer – Sierra Beck. Senior Steer – Carlie Meyer.Grand Champion Steer – Sierra Beck. Reserve Champion Steer – Finn Blatz. Best Home Grown Steer – Finn Blatz. Junior Showmanship – Finn Blatz. Intermediate – Sierra Beck. Senior – Cassidy Barnernt. A big Thank You to our Confirmation Judge Doug Finseth and our Showmanship Judge, Jaimie Stephenson.

Our show was followed by a delicious homemade lunch of beef on a bun (thanks to the Jardie and Rishaug families), salads and desserts. Thank you to all the families who brought food items. While lunch was going on, we had a professional hoof trimmer do anyone’s calves that needed it. Our next big even is 4-H on Parade down at the Stampede Grounds from May 31st to June 2nd. Hope to see everyone there!
