The Pincher Creek Communities in Bloom Committee is participating in the annual “Pitch-In Canada” program again this spring. This is a national program to encourage communities to take volunteer action for community clean-up, recycling etc. Participation can help us to gain recognition for Community Involvement and Tidiness under the Communities in Bloom Program.
There are two ways you can get involved this year! Pick one or both!
“OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP” MONTH (April 21 – May 21, 2013)
For more information on these and other Communities in Bloom Committee initiatives, contact (403) 627-4322 or email to rec@pinchercreek.ca. For more information on the Pitch-in Program go to www.pitch-in.ca
“OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP” MONTH (April 21 – May 21, 2013)
- Groups, services clubs and schools can organize a volunteer litter clean-up of an area of the town any time over the month i.e. school ground, north side of the creek, along a fence line etc.
- Please register your planned clean-up (location, time, group) with the Recreation Office call 627-4322 so we can avoid duplication of clean-up areas. * Note: we get Communities in Bloom points for participation!
- FREE garbage bags, and disposable gloves are available for your group clean-up if required. These can be arranged for and picked up at the Recreation Office, 895 Main Street (Swim Pool) prior to your event.
- Leave your bags at the Town Compost Site or at an agreed upon location and the Town will pick them up the next business day.
- After your event, Certificates of Appreciation will be issued.
- Get your group involved – just a little work can make a BIG difference in the look of our town!
“20 MINUTE MAKEOVER” DAY (Wednesday, April 24, 2013)
- Every individual, business or group can participate in the “makeover”.
- For 20 minutes during the day of April 24th go outside to pick-up litter, remove weeds or tall grass etc. around your home or place of work.
- FREE garbage bags and disposable gloves are available for pick up at the Recreation Office, 895 Main Street.
