Millarville-Stockland 4H Beef Club

Club Public Speaking

The Millarville Stockland 4-H Beef Club has had a busy last couple of weeks! We had District Curling and Public Speaking Workshop on January 12th and 13th in High River.


The members that attended were Hunter Egeland (me), Elizabeth Campbell, Jackson Collard and Wyatt Runge. We had our regular meeting on January 9th where our record books got marked and we went over upcoming business.

On January 23rd ,we had our workshop meeting where we had our project leader, Kathleen Cranswick , give a clinic on Public Speaking. It was very helpful, thank you Kathleen!!

On February 9th we held our annual Public Speaking Completion. We had to change venues at the last minute but it turned out fine in the end. Finn Blatz and Jackson Collard won for the Junior speeches with Elle Campbell as alternate. Shaelynn Brogden and Carson Campbell won for Intermediate speeches with Amy Jardie as alternate. Isabelle Ladiges and Carlie Meyer won for senior speeches with Ryden Brogden as alternate.  We also had our Cleaver Kids do speeches.  They were Sage Runge, Walter Schaal, Odin Schaefer, Hannah Supple and Justin Watkins.   Everyone did a great job!!  Thank you very much to our 12 hard working judges.

The members that went on to the Area Speak Off,  held on February 24th in Davisiburg, all did very well!! Congratulations to Finn Blatz who now goes on to the District Speak Off (March 09, 2013 at the Davisburg Hall) for juniors, Shaelynn Brogden was the alternate for the intermediates and to Carlie Meyer was the alternate for the seniors.

Our next meeting is March 13th.
