Country Music artist Krysta Scoggins performed an intimate show at the Ranchland Mall on Friday evening, March 1. Accompanying her on guitar was the talented Brian Mcleod on guitar and backup vocals. He's a singer songwriter in his own right as well.

Little kids danced up front, and the seated crowd ranged in age from very young to seniors.
Scoggins sang songs from her own songwriting catalogue, including selections from her upcoming album "Shine", which is scheduled to be released March 12. She began with the sprightly I'll Carry You, which she dedicated to her husband, also in attendance. She also sang a number of classic country songs and a surprisingly pretty version of Journey's Don't Stop Believin'. She sang You Are My Sunshine for the kids, and Brian McLeod sang a number from the "Barney" catalogue which I was not familiar with but was a huge hit with the kids.
After the show Scoggins had to hurry back to Edmonton for an early morning rehearsal. "We'll probably get there at about two a.m. I'll see my kids, probably have a little sleep, and go to rehearsal," she said after the show. After rehearsals there's a Manitoba radio tour planned, and then "A big CD release party in Edmonton, a HUGE big bash, and then I go to B.C. for a radio tour and then I go to Atlantic Canada for a radio tour, and maybe I'll get a week off after that, I hope," she said.
"I'm a young girl from a small town who loves to sing, loves to play the piano and guitar and harmonica and who loves to write songs. It just led me to a path of doing music full time and I got signed, and here I am!"
"These things are so fun, you get together with people and hang out and get everybody involved. I love it."
