2012/13 St. Michael's Senior Girls Dragons Basketball Team

St. Michael's Senior Girls Basketball team has had a stellar season.  They finished in second place at the Hawks Classic tournament two weekends ago, missing first place by only one point.  Last weekend they finished in fist place at the Chinook League Post-Season Tournament, held at St. Michael's and Matthew Halton schools.
"It's a strong team, they've been a strong team all season, there are so many skills they've got that they were able to pull it off," said Coach Sally Woodard of that win.

An additional acknowledgement should be made for the three Seniors who will be graduating this year and therefore are playing their last games with the team.  Catherine DeCock, Kelli Potts, and Elise Wocknitz have done a terrific job of leading and inspiring the team this year.  "I coached them three years ago in Junior High and I thought they were the best players in the Junior High league," said Coach Woodard, "and they still are."

Catherine DeCock was awarded Best Player in the Chinook League, and  Kelli Potts and Elise Wocknitz were both League All-Stars. "No other team had that.  You've got to have leadership, and those girls..!"
