Wind warning issued

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Pincher Creek, Waterton Lakes National Park, and Crowsnest Pass.

Strong winds gusting up to 100 km/h Thursday afternoon.

A vigorous Pacific low and associated upper warm front will move across British Columbia tonight. As the upper warm front moves across the Rocky Mountains early Thursday morning, a trough is expected to form along the Alberta foothills and strengthen throughout the day. Winds are will be the strongest in the southern foothills from High River to Pincher Creek. The wind is expected to weaken below warning criteria in the evening as the trough moves away from the foothills.
