Atom 1 Chinooks vs CNP Thunder C. Davis photos and video |
Chris Davis
The Thunder Atoms were fairly dazzling out there, scoring twice in the first period, twice in the second, and four times in the third period. The Atom 1 Chinooks scored twice. An unassisted Chinooks goal came from Rylan Bruns in the second period and Cade Ames scored in the third, assisted by Bruns and Sam Jordan. The Atom 1 Chinooks were missing Trinity Tanner and Michael Kaupp so they enlisted the help of Caleb Evans and Beyonce Crowshoe of the Atom 2 Chinooks to fill out their roster for this game.
The final score was 8-2 for the Thunder Atoms.
Q&A with Sam Jordan, Atom 1 Chinooks:
Sam Jordan is a defenceman with the Atom 1 Chinooks. He took some time out to answer a few questions on Saturday afternoon at the MCC arena.
Sam is 10 years old, and he's been playing hockey for seven years.
Do you think you'll end up playing for the Senior Huskies someday?
"Maybe."
What hockey do you watch at home?
"WHL, World Juniors, and NHL."
Favourite teams and players?
"WHL Lethbridge, NHL Capitals Captain Alex Ovechkin."
Why Ovechkin?
"He's really fast, and cool."
What kind of effort can we expect to see from the Atom 1 Chinooks for the rest of the season?
"We are going to try our hardest, and try to win."
Biggest challenge?
"Coaldale. They seem like a double A team. We've never won against them, ever." Do you play them again this season? "No, maybe in the playoffs."
Are you going to make it to the playoffs?
"We'll make it."
Sam was also nice enough to nominate a couple of his teammates for Athlete of the Day. Stay tuned for that.
