Counterfeit currency passed in Fort Macleod
On October 12, 2012 at approximately 1:30 pm a Caucasian male and a Caucasian female entered a local business on 24th Street within the 200 block of Fort Macleod. While in the business the couple shopped for random items and then paid for those items with a large amount of counterfeit Canadian currency.
The male was described as being 6 foot tall, thin build, shaved head, blue eyes, sharp features, and may have had a accent.
The female was described as being 5'2" tall, average build, darker hair with blonde highlights, round face, make up, brown eyes, and may have had an accent.
The Fort Macleod RCMP is encouraging local business owners to take the time to examine large bills when they are being tendered. If you suspect that these bills are counterfeit do not accept them as payment and notify the police in a discreet manner immediately by phone.
