RCMP busts Castle Wilderness area grow-op

Pincher Creek RCMP  and local forestry officers were harvesting in September along with most of the local farming community, however the crop was a little more sinister.

A forestry helicopter spotted what appeared to be a marihuana grow operation at an undisclosed location in the Castle Wilderness and informed RCMP.  RCMP confirmed their suspicions after accessing the remote area and removed 112 plants. When questioned RCMP stated that due to the condition of the plants it was difficult to give a street value but it could have ranged from several hundreds of dollars to several thousands of dollars if they had been allowed to fully mature.

RCMP are continuing to investigate and have suspects in the case but declined to comment further.

  1. Just a heads up that the word marijuana is misspelled.

  2. That's one of the legitimate ways of spelling marijuana, and is the one the RCMP always uses.
