Just in time for the 2012-2013 arena season, Pincher Creek's Town Council approved the installation of new heaters at the rink during their September 24 meeting.
The installation is expected to happen today, September 25. Last arena season a popular petition was circulated among rink users asking for new heaters to be installed. Other complaints were made via the Town's website and via other means.
The new radiant heaters cost $26,775 including GST, and will be paid for from the arena shared operating reserve account. According to Director of Operations Al Roth they are roughly 30 feet long each, as were the defunct units they are replacing.
