Injury Collision on Highway 23 and 519

On August 20, 2012 at approximately 3:00 pm, Picture Butte RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Hwy 23 at the junction of Hwy 519.

A South Bound pick up truck was in collision with a turning West Bound car. Initial investigation revealed the car turned into the path of the South bound truck.

The truck had 3 occupants and all were transported to by ambulance with non life threatening injuries. The driver, lone occupant of the car, sustained fractures of her leg, she was also transported to Chinook Regional Hospital.

Due to the high volume of traffic, it was diverted around the collision scene. Also on scene to assist was the Alberta Sheriffs, Lethbridge Traffic Services, and the RCMP Collision Analyst.

An investigation continues into the cause of the collision. Charges are pending.
Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in this incident.
