Beaver Mines looking for volunteers

Power outage at Vista Village

At approximately 1 am on Wednesday, August 15 Emergency Services responded to Vista Village to an alarm at Vista Village, which turned out to be caused by a power outage.


Holiday trailer fire

Emergency Services responded to a holiday trailer on fire at the Syncline campground west of Beaver Mines at approximately 6:00 am Wednesday morning, August 15.  There were no injuries, no exposures were damaged, but the trailer suffered extensive damage.  Beaver Mines Fire Department responded, as did one engine out of Pincher Creek.

Injury during parade

Emergency Services responded to a minor incident during the parade on Saturday, August 18.  A person was hit by a float and transported to Pncher Creek Hospital.

Highway 6 accident

On the evening of Saturday, August 18 around 10:30 pm Emergency Services responded to an accident on Highway 6 just south of Pincher Creek at a bridge construction site.  A motorcycle collided with a vehicle.  No injuries were reported in the incident.

Vehicle fire on Highway 22

On Monday, August 20 at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon Emergency Services responded to a vehicle on fire on Highway 22.  Both passengers of the vehicle escaped without injury, but the vehicle was a total loss due to fire damage.  Lundbreck Fire and one Pincher Creek engine responded.

Fire east of Pincher Creek

On Tuesday, August 21, lightning ignited a fire east of Pincher Creek, near the MD of Pincher Creek #9 boundary, threatening a feedlot and a bale pile.  Approximately 30 acres of standing grain crop was burned before it was extinguished.  Fire Chief Dave Cox said afterwards that it was rare for lightning to cause a fire.  Peigan Fire responded and extinguished the fire, under the mutual aid agreement between the jurisdictions. Pincher Creek also responded with 3 units and an ambulance to monitor the safety of the firefighters.

Rodeo

Emergency Services provided support to the Pincher Creek Pro Rodeo.  During the 3 days of rodeo they assisted with 2 serious incidents involving injured rodeo contestants.
