Mischief to vehicle in Fort Macleod

Between the evening of July 9, 2012 at 5 P.M. and the early morning of July 10, 2012 at 9 A.M. a mischief under $5000 to a motor vehicle occurred on 2 Avenue and 23 Street in Fort Macleod, Alberta. The owner of the vehicle advised that there was a forced entry into the vehicle and damage in the amount of $400. The vehicle that was damaged was a Dark Blue Ford SRW and it did not appear that anything was stolen out of the vehicle. The act of damaging the vehicle would have been quite loud and would likely have attracted a lot of attention.

The Fort Macleod RCMP would like to remind everyone to lock your vehicles and put items of value out of sight when they are in your vehicle. If you are parking your vehicle in locations that you are unfamiliar with, park your vehicle in a well lit area that is not isolated from public view.

The Fort Macleod RCMP is investigating this mischief and ask that any members of the public with information regarding this incident contact Cst. J. D. SMITH of the Fort Macleod RCMP detachment at 403-553-7200 or share their information with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
