The soccer field behind the Pincher Creek pool was the site of some intense ladies soccer action on July 11.
The Pincher Creek Dirty Girls faced the Fernie Flash. The Fernie team have had 8 games this season, compared to the Pincher Creek 5 games, giving them more time to acclimatize to working as a team.

Fernie went into half-time with a distinct advantage leading 3-2. "The heat is getting to us," admitted coach Gino Elia. "Everything will settle down in the second half," he said, looking toward the sun that was going down.
Pincher Creek Coach Kelly Lepine (formerly Lincez) admitted that Fernie was a tough team. "It's always a battle against Fernie, but we're holding them. We've got another 40 minutes."
And hold them they did. The only goal in the second half of the game was in the last few seconds when Pincher's Allison Malhi tied the game 3-3 in dramatic style. Afterwards Malhi said that this was her second year playing. "I fell in love with it last year."
Coach Lepine said that even though they are partway through the season the team will still take on new players. An enthusiastic coach, she wants woman to to come out and experience the game for themselves.
The Pincher team also plays with Crowsnest Pass players. The Crowsnest Pass makes use of the Albert Stella Arena throughout the winter, making this a sport that the ladies can enjoy year-round.
