The show began at 2:00 pm, followed by a delicious pork supper at 5:30, and at 7:00 pm the bidding began.

The Judge for the Show portion of the event was Chris Santangelo, a former member of the Wild and Wooly 4-H Sheep Club, who is now the Yard Manager for the Western Hog Exchange, which is a non-profit organization formed in 1996 to help hog producers meet the challenges of a changing market.  Sanangelo spent a lot of time evaluating each hog, and shared a lot of insight and tips with the 4-H participants.

First to show was the Chinook 4-H Multi Club.  Ryan Higgenbotham had the Interclub Reserve Champion hog, and Taylor Deley had the Club Reserve hog.

Rocky Mountain Swine Club senior member Blair Goodreau was the Interclub Grand Champion.  Intermediate Rocky Mountain member Chaz Vance got the nod for Club Reserve with his hog.

Darren Shaw, Allen Lively, and Justin Keeley of the Southern Alberta Livestock Exchange kept the auction humming along, extracting the highest possible prices for the 4-H members. They also bought Interclub Reserve Champion Ryan Higgenbotham's hog.  The Pincher Creek Co-op bought Interclub Grand Champion Blair Goodreau's hog.  At the end of the day, all the hogs went to buyers at higher than market prices.  The hogs were generally far above average in quality, due to the individual care they were given, and this annual sale also helps the 4-H members in their further pursuits.
