Custom buckle specially made to celebrate The Gathering's 25th Anniversary
| The Janet Barkwith/Smiling Fox Studio designed Buckle Celebrating 25 years of the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Pincher Creek |
This one-of-a-kind buckle will be auctioned on the evening of Saturday June 16th, immediately after The Gathering's Feature Presentation, which will include The Travelling Mabels and many other great Western performers. Also to be auctioned is a pair of custom made silver earrings featuring the Gathering logo, and a copy of the full colour, top-of-the-line Souvenir Poster which will be autographed by all the performers – three really great collectors' items: which are sure to increase in value as time goes by!
The buckle auction is the climax of the Gathering Weekend: at 5.30 pm there will be a delicious Alberta Beef Barbeque, followed by the Feature Presentation, after which there will be the auction – which can get pretty exciting! To round off the evening, after the buckle, earrings and poster have gone to their proud new owners, dance the night away til late at a real old country dance. The Feature Presentation begins at around 7.30 pm. The buckle auction follows immediately afterwards, and will be conducted as usual by Pincher Creek's very own Bob Westrop, with his customary vigour and great good humour. It's worth coming just to see Bob in action, even if you don't make a bid (though of course, we hope you do!)
The buckle is skilfully and beautifully fashioned by Olson's Silver in High River, to a design by Janet Barkwith, of The Smiling Fox Studio, who also designed and made the earrings and the poster.
Tickets are available at the door, or at the Pincher Creek Chamber of Commerce in the Co-op Mall. Info at 403-627-2207 and on our web site www.pcgathering.com So brush up your two-step, dust off your wallet, come on down and cowboy up!
