Motorists can expect periodic delays on Highway 3 through Crowsnest Pass to accommodate rock control work.
The work will take place Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, weather permitting. The work involves scaling rock faces adjacent to the highway to pry loose material that may fall onto the highway. Crews will also be repairing and/or replacing fences that catch falling rocks or debris.
The highway will periodically close to traffic through the work area and these closures may be up to 30 minutes duration. Traffic will be controlled by flag people at either end of the work area.
Motorists should use caution in this area and obey all signs, message boards, and flag people. Fines for speeding are doubled in construction zones when workers are present.
