The Oldman Rose Society of Southern Alberta celebrated their five-year anniversary on Saturday, March 31 with an Anniversary Tea held at Mrs. P's at the Ranchland Mall.

The society was officially formed at an organizational meeting on April 2, 2007.

Society President Ianthe Goodfellow presided over the event, held in a beautifully decorated section of Mrs. P's.  Easter bunnies predominated. Some of the attendees wore fanciful spring hats, and most were dressed in pastels to help colour the event.

The event featured door prizes every half hour, free carrot cake, good company, and tea.

The Oldman Rose Society has 27 members, and has been an integral part of making Pincher Creek a prettier place to live during the last five years.

"Five years is a great achievement for any garden club," said Goodfellow.  "Specially when you're specialized like us."
