The Canyon School Choir gave two public performances last week.
The first was at an assembly at Canyon School on Wednesday afternoon, April 4, and the second was at Crestview Lodge on Thursday morning. For the Grade Six students the Crestview Lodge performance was to be their last before moving on to junior high school.

Under the able direction of Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Squair, the choir gave similar performances at both events of their musical "Rhythm to the Rescue", which explored the history and styles of various kinds of music.
The performances were dynamic and entertaining, with plenty of hand clapping, dancing, and gestures to enliven the show. The title song, "Rhythm to the Rescue" has the habit of getting stuck in one's brain for the rest of the day. Forays into blues, jazz, Carribbean, and other styles of music were equally successful.

The 42-member choir is composed of students from grades 4, 5 and 6. They practiced once a week for twenty minutes, which makes their tuneful achievements this week seem all the more remarkable. Their show was a hit at both venues, and with this reporter.
