Foothills Residents Unknowingly Purchase Stolen Trucks
A Calgary Auto sales Company and three Turner Valley, Alberta area residents have been caught up in an alleged theft and fraud operation orchestrated by one man. In August of 2011 the Calgary Auto sales Company hired a male to do auto body work on three newer pickup trucks. The male picked up the vehicles in Calgary and brought them to his shop in Black Diamond.
Instead of fixing the pickup trucks and returning them to the Calgary company with a bill, the suspect allegedly sold the units to three residents of the Foothills area claiming that he owned them outright and that he had the right to sell them. He pocketed over thirty thousand dollars from the unsuspecting buyers who had no idea the vehicles were actually owned by the Calgary company.
RCMP in Turner Valley have charged Liam MAILEY, age 65, with Theft and Fraud. MAILEY cannot be located and Warrants have been issued for his arrest. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to call the RCMP in Turner Valley at 403-933-7227 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
