Basketball fans were treated to an intense match between the Livingstone Sabres Senior Boys Basketball team and the  hosting Saint Michael's Dragons on the evening of February 8.

At first these seemed to be two very evenly matched teams, with a lot of back-and-forth play, and the score through much of the first quarter reflecting a two or three point lead for the Dragons.

In the second quarter the Dragons began to pull ahead.  The Sabres bounced back approaching the half, diminishing the Dragons' lead to 38-31.  The third was much the same up until about halfway through, when the Dragons started to inexorably build on their lead.  The fourth quarter belonged to the Dragons, who thwarted the solid Sabres team's constant efforts to turn the game around.  A final last-second basket for the Dragons capped a rock-solid effort for the team.

On the Sabres side Lane, Aaron, and Cord put in very solid efforts.  #15 Morgan has a beautiful long shot.
Dragons' #4 Sam Parkinson was a crowd favourite in the game, putting in a Dragon sized effort and holding his own, playing much like a younger Jasper Woodard.  Fiest, Naumczyk, and Bruder dominated the scoreboard.

Final score: Dragons 86, Sabres 68
