According to Fire Chief Dave Cox, a small house fire in the MD of Pincher Creek was reported yesterday, February 12. Sparks from a wood stove apparently ignited a portion of the homeowner's roof. Pincher Creek Fire responded with one Engine and a Tender truck, and the Beaver Mines fire crew was asked to be ready in case they were needed. The tender was turned around en route, and Beaver Mines were told to stand down, as the fire was quickly doused.
Chief Cox said it had been a relatively quiet weekend for Emergency Services in general.
The King's Restaurant fire last week has been determined to be of electrical origin.
