The Lieutenant Governor’s Circle on Mental Health and Addiction is welcoming nominations for the True Awards. This new awards program celebrates those among us who are fostering stronger and healthier lives for Albertans living with mental illness and addiction.
“The True Awards are a way to thank Albertans who are making a difference in their efforts to improve mental health and addiction services, to break down stigmas associated with mental illness and to provide powerful examples for others to follow,” said His Honour Col. (Ret’d) the Honourable Donald S. Ethell. “By sharing the stories of those who are building success we hope to inspire others to do the same.”
Anyone can submit a nomination for a True Award. The deadline for nominations is Monday, June 25 and the inaugural awards ceremony will take place in Edmonton on October 4, 2012. Award criteria, nomination forms and other information is available at mhpa.ab.ca/LGCircle.
