Sherry Mackenzie was in the Pincher Creek Co-op on Friday, February 3 with her whole family. It is not unusual to see a family shopping in Co-op on a Friday. As the auction winner of the two minute shopping spree, donated by Co-op to Angels Within Us, Sherry was flying solo on the shopping. Husband Bryan was in charge of their children Rowan, Isabella, and Deloy while mom did the shopping.
General Manager Bruce Buckingham went over the rules: Two minutes, no more than two of any single item, she must pick up the items one at a time, no scooping items, no lotto or tobacco products.

Being a veteran shopper for a growing family, Sherry ignored her children's advice. "The candy aisle! Mom, go down the candy aisle!" they chanted. She headed straight to the meat department instead. With hair flying, Sherry skidded to a stop and started filling the cart with items like turkeys, pork ribs, chickens, steaks, roasts, and hams, along with other items. The children offered advice while Bryan kept them at bay, exhorting to "Go faster!"

Co-op Meat Manager Allen Kaupp and staff stood back with big smiles as they watched Sherry clean up their department. Kaupp offered a thumbs up, obviously enjoying the event.
The next stop was bacon. Sherry cleaned up an impressive 20 packages of bacon, having confirmed with Buckingham that even though she was limited to two of any single item, different brands and types within a brand were fair game.
With the clock ticking away, Sherry turned the corner to the cheese department. Everyone behind her heard the collision and feared the worst. Sherry was momentarily blocked by a sign. It did not slow this lady down for more than a second. Sherry picked up around 20 packages of cheese while family and staff counted down the last few seconds.
Sherry said "those two minutes went really fast!" as the family looked upon the items going through. Deloy, the oldest boy was suspicious that he could do it better. "I want to do it next time," he said. "It looks like fun." Proceeding to the till, the family visited with Cooper while they were rung through. The final total of $701.85 was truly impressive. Having their cart filled for a generous donation to the Angels Within Us charity makes the whole community the winners.
