Whispering Winds update, December 9, 2011

The residents of Whispering Winds had the pleasure of listening to the “Friends in Sync” sing some of their music they have been practicing for the Choir Festival. (Click here for more information about the upcoming Choir Festival). Brenda Squire is their piano player and Pat Toney the director. We also had Helen Rae (Blackburn) joining in with some fantastic whistling.

Our Christmas Carol sing along got off to a good start with Joyce McFarland at the piano and everyone present joining in. It was quite hilarious as some were ahead of the piano, and others were off key, but we all had fun, I think, although we haven’t tried it again.

The card games are going well with good number of players coming out. The winners of the Whist Drive were George and Beatrice. The winners of the Crib tournament were Andress, John and Carolyn. Horse racing took over Thursday evening with Connie raking in the big bucks.

Remember exercise 3:00 pm each day except Thursday, Whist on Tuesday 1:00pm, Crib tournament Wednesday the 21 1:00pm, Shuffle board every Thursday at 1:00pm.followed by Horse Races at 7:00pm. Bingo Challenge on the 24th starting at 1:00pm.

Rocky view School students along with their teachers came to entertain us, and boy did they ever. What beautiful voices, and the songs they sang were not easy as the harmonizing was fantastic. Well done and thank you so much for coming in to Whispering Winds.

I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and may 2012 be good to us all. This will be my last article until February, so until then KEEP SMILING.
