The Joint Council of the Town and Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 met on October 5 to review 38 applications totalling $684,698.76 for 2012 funding. Both council’s agreed to increase their per capita amounts from $25.00 to $35.00 and, upon ranking the applications, to fund the top 16 applications to an amount totalling $240,000.
In separate council meetings on Tuesday, October 11 both councils passed their respective resolutions to this effect.
The MD's portion of this funding is to total $115,815, with the Town's allotment therefore to be $124,185.
The 16 organizations that will receive a portion of this funding include:

· Pincher Creek Humane Society/SPCA
· Pincher Creek Rodeo Club
· Pincher Creek and District Chamber of Commerce (2012 Summer Parade and Murals)
· Pincher Creek Care Bears Society
· Pincher Planters
· Heritage Acres
· Lundbreck Citizens Council
· Pincher Creek and District Historical Society
· Royal Canadian Legion
· Allied Arts Council
· Pincher Creek Citizens on Patrol
· Syncline Trails Association
· Pincher Creek Community Hall Society
· Maycroft Hall Community Association
