Four teens killed in single-vehicle rollover near Magrath
Chris Davis, Pincher Creek Voice, from various sources
Two 14 year old girls and two 16 year old boys, students of Magrath Junior-Senior High School, were killed in a late Saturday night single-vehicle rollover on Township Road 55a, just east of Magrath. RCMP told CBC news it appeared their vehicle was heading westbound when it missed a bridge, skidded off the road and landed upside down. Paramedics and police found their car upside down and partly submerged in Pothole Creek. According to RCMP, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, but speed and driver inexperience may have contributed to it.
Magrath’s town manager told CBC News a candlelight vigil for the teens would be held at 8 p.m. MT on Sunday night at the local football field.
