Pincher Creek resident Wendy Ryan recently played host to an intrepid young couple recently.  "I just happened to meet two very interesting and dedicated people cycling across Canada  to raise awareness for the BC old growth forests and endangered birds," said Ryan.

Canadian born musician Jaime Hall and wildlife biologist Nigel Jackett are cycling east to west on a six-month journey to raise awareness and funds for the Ancient Forest Alliance of British Columbia.  They are also trying to make a new record of the number of different bird species seen in one year by one person in Canada.  "Til the last tree" is a proactive campaign for the conservation of vulnerable ecosystems.

After an overnight stay with Ryan, Hall and Jackett visited Peter Sherington’s bird viewing site above Frank Slide before heading further west.

"We enjoyed our short stay in Pincher Creek," said Nigel in an email from further down the trail.  "What a beautiful vista!  We've found the Prairies to be among the most hospitable places in Canada.  Wendy very kindly stopped to offer us her place on our way into town, and made some phone calls to help us out, such as to local birdwatchers and to you!"
