The course will run from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Tuesday, September 20 and Thursday, September 22.
The registration deadline is Friday September 16th, and the cost is $40 per person. The classroom can comfortably accommodate around 20 people.
Tuesday evening will feature an overview of what is happening on the frontiers of astronomy and cosmology today.
Thursday evening will be an opportunity to learn more from people who work on these frontiers, and to ask any niggling questions you have about cosmic mysteries.
Like where your socks end up after they go missing from the washer and dryer.
If all goes as planned, world-class astronomers from Calgary and Lethbridge will join us live via the internet Thursday evening to discuss their current work and answer those niggling questions... to the best of their abilities.
Weather conditions permitting, the evening of Saturday September 24th will feature casual observing at the beautiful Beauvais Lake Provincial Park west of Pincher Creek.
A powerful telescope will be provided courtesy of Alberta Parks.
Children will be welcome on the Saturday evening, but Tuesday and Thursday evenings are for genuinely interested youth and adults only.
