On Thursday, September 1, 2011 the Town of Pincher Creek Committee of the Whole (COTW) met in Council Chambers. Among other things, on the agenda was a proposal to install a crosswalk at Sleepy Hollow Campground along Waterton Avenue, which resulted in a recommendation that administration send a letter to Rick Lemire of Alberta Transportation in support of the idea.

Administration requested a Facility and Infrastructure planning session with council, which was sheduled for October 21 and 22, 2011.

Information was reviewed regarding potential properties for consideration for a homeless shelter building or other homelessness support facility. Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) was requested to provide input on the matter, to which end David Green later spoke as a delegate to council at their September 12 meeting.

Council went "in camera" (a private meeting) to discuss negotiations with CUPE, the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Afterwards council reverted to an open meeting, where Councillor Don Anderberg moved the COTW recommend administration develop a contingency plan to ensure public services be maintained in the event of a labour disruption, to be presented to council at their September 12 meeting. That motion was carried.
