Matthew Halton High School is getting ready for the influx of students coming back to school in one week, on Tuesday, September 6.
Contractors have been hard at work completing renovations while the school has been unoccupied during the summer.
On Tuesday, August 30, Black Diamond Asphalt were refinishing the surface where basketball will be played in just a few short days. Once they hit a point where they could stop to talk for a moment, the men posed by their truck, all smiles. Evidence of their work could be seen, bright black, around the building.
Many renovations and repairs are still in progress. Shane Hubbard of Airtech is one of the sheet metal workers. "We have been doing the ducting, flashing, and metal work, but there are a number of crews working throughout to get it all done. Ward Brothers are doing the roof and interior upgrades, Apex Electrical are on-site as well," said Hubbard.
