Pincher Creek child killed in vehicle incident

RCMP Pincher Creek - On the 30th of June 2016 at approximately 8:30 P.M. Pincher Creek RCMP were advised that a 3 year old had been transported to the Pincher Creek hospital suffering from serious injuries sustained when a motor vehicle operated by his father had driven over the child. The parents and witnesses transported the child to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

The RCMP attended the scene and the hospital speaking to the parents and witnesses. The investigation revealed the family was camping in the Castle Falls forestry area and had just set up their trailer for the weekend. The father went to move his vehicle, accidentally driving over the child causing the injuries. Witnesses at the scene assisted with medical care and transported the child approximately 40 km to the Pincher Creek Hospital. Alcohol was not a factor in this fatality and charges are not being considered at this time.
