Work Ethic Recognition List
All teachers have to agree that a student meet the criteria before they are selected for this list. The criteria are as follows: Excellent work habits and effort. Homework is virtually always completed on time. Assignments are completed within expected timelines. Necessary materials are brought to class and homework is of exceptional or very good quality. During class the student is self-directed and participates well. Consistently demonstrates positive attitudes and behaviors as represented by the responsible learner skills on report cards.

The recipient demonstrates sportsmanship and interacts positively with all athletes and demonstrates qualities like leadership and teamwork.

Awarded to a high achieving student in core courses. The recipients must have a minimum mark of 80%. These awards are determined by grade level core teachers in conjunction with the awards committee.

Fortis Green Up Grant

Matthew Halton School is the recipient of the Fortis Green Up Grant for $2500. This grant will be used to support the construction of a new school passive energy greenhouse.
