Canada Post extends lockout deadline to Monday
Chris Davis - According to a press release issued on Wednesday, Canada Post is extending the 72 hour notice of a lockout issued to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) to Monday July 11 at 12:01 am. "Canada Post agreed to voluntarily submit to binding arbitration as an opportunity for both parties to reach an acceptable resolution" in response to a request issued to Canada Post CUPW-Urban and CUPW-RSMC and Wednesday by the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, MaryAnn Mihychuk, who asked the parties "to submit to binding arbitration to resolve the current impasse at negotiations".
