ABC Border Bowl
They all played such a great game, I was so proud of the boys as they played against a great team but also played in front of many college and junior scouts. It was a championship game and an allstar game rolled all into one. The game was held in Vernon BC, on Saturday May 28, and it was a lot of travel and a lot of intense practice to get them there but they did it. Tysen Teneyke made multiple tackles and one sack as he destroyed BC’s O-line along with Tyran Holloway who sealed out the end well and shut down the sweep every time it came his way. Devon Clarke was able to make a couple key tackles to save some points and got a sack early in the game. Conner Ney was able to catch everything that was thrown at him and ran for a lot of positive yards for the offense. Jaeger Hann stood strong in the middle of the O-Line as the center blocking out a 6’8 giant all game long. Nathan Baker had an exceptionally good game as he had countless tackles, played some O-line and even ran the ball a couple times. Nathan led the defense for the team as one of the captains and also ended up winning MVP for the game.
Our local boys are great and proved they are able to stand with anyone in the province in their age group. So proud of these players and what a privilege it was for me to coach them. Also should note that two other boys were with us on other teams, Ty Anderson was on the Future Stars team as a defensive tackle and Tanner Wallace was on the young stars team as a wide receiver. Both players did great jobs representing their community at this event.
Bantam All-Stars Devon Clarke, Conner Ney, and Ty Anderson
Also not very long ago there was a bantam all star game that was held in Lethbridge. We had three of our players there, Devon Clarke, Ty Anderson, and Conner Ney. They all played amazingly and had a great time.
League MVP Conner Ney
Special note goes to Conner Ney for winning the league award for MVP of Special teams. It was a tough season for wins and losses last year but I know the boys learned a lot about football.
