| Proposed area for multi-family residential zoning in red |
Council for the Town of Pincher Creek passed first reading on bylaw 1547-AA during the regular meeting of council on Monday, March 14. This bylaw would allow an area of the North Hill residential area (west of the Ranchland Mall) to be rezoned from R-1 single family residential to include a multi-family residential area at the west end of the area between Tumbleweed Avenue and Sunshine Bay, served by an existing lane.
Stantec Consulting Limited submitted the application on behalf of Gero Construction and Development Limited. The request is to rezone an approximately 1.5 acre of property in the North Hill Community as shown on the red shaded area of the pictured map. This rezoning is being pursued given changing market conditions would allow development with a variety of housing styles including multiplex and row housing under the R-4 land use designation.
The bylaw passed first reading and council directed a public hearing is to be scheduled for April 11, 2016 regarding the matter.
