Alberta artists gather to paint Pincher Creek landscapes

Two dozen artists from all over Alberta are gathering this August in Pincher Creek for a week to paint its beautiful landscapes. The artists begin arriving on Thursday, August 6, staying through until the following Thursday. The "base of operations" and gathering point is in Sleepy Hollow Campground, at the campsites of organizers Pete Jacobs of Drayton Valley (site E-10) and Terry Elrod of Edmonton (site F-5).

This convivial gathering of painters is always eager to meet and paint with area artists. There is no fee and no schedule.  Artists are free to spend their time and come and go as they please. The group does tend to gather at Pete Jacob's campsite at about 5:30 each afternoon for some good conversation, libations, and sharing of artwork with other lovers of Alberta's landscapes.

This week-long gathering of Alberta painters meets every August in a different part of central or southern Alberta. It has been organized by Pete for some fifteen straight years. with help from Terry for the past ten. Representing all ages, abilities and media, they share a love of art and of Alberta's beautiful landscapes. (They're certainly coming to the right place this year!)
