Alberta Municipal Affairs today released a list of 2015/16 Municipal Sustainability Initiative (MSI) allocations. MSI funding is designated for capital and operating projects.
MSI capital projects include:
- municipal roads and bridges
- public transit
- water and wastewater systems
- emergency services, facilities and equipment
- solid waste management facilities and equipment
- regional and community airport facilities and equipment
- other municipal buildings and facilities such as recreation and sports facilities, libraries, public works buildings and cultural/community centres
Excerpted below are the numbers for some southwestern Alberta communities.
The Town of Pincher Creek has been allocated a total of $758,030, which includes:
- $423,959 MSI capital component
- $217,140 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
- $116,931 Operating funding
The Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 has been allocated a total of $943,303, which includes:
- $637,534 MSI capital component
- $251,524 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
- $54,245 Operating funding
- $121,050 MSI capital component
- $15,866 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
- $29,033 Operating funding
The Municipality of Crowsnest Pass has been allocated a total of $1,677,585, which includes:
- $1,197,745 MSI capital component
- $333,900 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
- $145,940 Operating funding
- $389,016 MSI capital component
- $214,800 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
- $190,157 Operating funding
- $371,641 MSI capital component
- $187,020 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
- $102,636 Operating funding
- $126,393 MSI capital component
- $17,566 Basic Municipal Transportation Grant (BMTG) component
