Firefighter Hawkin (Hawk) Everts
"It's a good way to stay in shape, and you learn all kinds of new stuff," says Hawkin (Hawk) Everts who has been a member of Beaver Mines Fire Station for approximately 11 years. "The training is amazing, it's all free training for us. It's a new way to give back to the community. It's lot's of fun, and great people, and a real adrenaline rush." Everts said that if someone is interested in joining the volunteer fire department to contact the station (or call 403-627-5333). Everts owns Grumpy's Greenhouse in Beaver Mines and also works as a landscaper.
