Council for the Town of Pincher Creek appointed John Herasemluk to the position of Community Peace Officer at the regular council meeting of Monday April 27, 2015. Administration said that Herasemluk was hired approximately one year ago and has recently finished a peace officer training program. CAO Laurie Wilgosh said "He was successful, and got great marks there. People are very pleased, (we) have already received some very positive comments from the community about John's performance."
"He has finally gotten his appointment from the Province, and that allows for the council to appoint him officially."
It is the duty of the community peace officer to enforce municipal bylaws, in addition to applicable provincial and federal statutes within the boundaries of the municipality.
