Late in the evening of Sunday, March 16 Pincher Creek Emergency Services responded to a tractor trailer carrying gasoline that jackknifed at the first coulee east of Cowley on Highway 3. Traffic was reduced to a single lane for a period of time. The driver put chains on to extricate himself from the situation, but the chains were broken during the attempt, requiring a delay as another set to be obtained.
