Town Council considers amendment to allow garbage to be put out up to 24 hrs before pick up

The issue of garbage pick up was addressed at Pincher Creek Town Council on the regular meeting of March 9, 2015. Garbage Utility Bylaw 1605-13 outlines that you can put your garbage out at appropriate designated areas on the day of pick up. The present bylaw includes the line 'on collection day', and council would like to amend it to read 'up to 24 hours in advance of collection day'. Administration indicated in October that there has not been any penalties levied for placing a container out early. Council agreed that this is a useful amendment, and consider it the next time this bylaw is reviewed or opened.
