Hawks vs Piikani (Teigan Lissel of the Hawks shooting) |
On February 11 Matthew Halton's Sr. Boys Hawks basketball team traveled to Piikani Nation Secondary School. Piikani won that game by a wide margin. Last weekend the Hawks were in Vulcan, participating in the John Wark Memorial Tournament, where they took 4th place after a win and two losses.
At the tournament the Hawks defeated Nobleford 63-54, building on a two point lead at half time to win it, demonstrating an improved defence, assertive play, and good passes and play setups. #12 Teigan Lissel was Player of the Game for the Hawks. Next the Hawks faced the Kate Andrews Pride for the first time this season. The Pride won that game by a wide margin. #13 Liam Nazarek was Player of the Game for the Hawks. For their final game of the tournament Pincher Creek's Hawks faced host team Vulcan's Hawks for a much closer game than the one against the Pride. Vulcan won that game 62-48. #9 Matthew Duncan was Player of the Game for Pincher Creek.
