The Town and Country Funspiel is a long-standing tradition in Pincher Creek.  Originally it was called the Farmers Bonspiel.  The week-long event now encourages friendly competition between rural and urban residents of the Pincher Creek area, with teams representing families, organizations, businesses, friends, and neighbors.

B champs - Team Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village

Long time curler said she Brenda Heisler believes the tournament originally began in the 1960s, "or even earlier." This year over 20 teams participated between Monday, February 9 to the last day on Saturday the 14th.   The event culminated in a prime rib dinner, games, awards and the choosing of prizes from many items donated by local businesses and individuals.

C champs - Team Anderberg

Everyone was welcomed regardless of experience, and many teams had alternate members in case a team member could not join in on certain days.  This continues to be excellent chance to experience the sport, whether in a curling league or not.  The teams were slotted into divisions A, B, C, and D,  depending roughly on ability and experience.
