| Dragons (in white) vs Sabres |
St. Michael's Dragons hosted the Livingstone Sabres on Wednesday evening January 7th for a high paced action packed game of basketball. Livingstone keep their perfect record alive after winning by a score of 73-51.* The game was actually a lot closer the the score might indicate. The Dragons kept up with the Sabres for most of the game, but a lacklustre Dragons performance in the second quarter combined with the Sabres ability to maintain their high tempo breakout, the Sabres were able to gain enough of a lead to carry them for the rest of the game.
Kyle Knowlton and Calvin Cooley tried to get the Dragons back into the game early in the fourth quarter with a few impressive baskets which did help their team climb back, but it was a little too late to change the outcome. Eric Cadonic and Ross Cook helped stave off the Dragons' late offensive push, and secured the Sabres win with some late game threes. Livingstone head coach Duane DeCock* commented on the last few minutes of the game, saying “The last few minutes of a game can get pretty hectic. I'm just happy that the team was able to hang on for their win”. He was right, the last few minutes contained the most action of the game, with the Dragons outscoring the Sabres 20-14.

The Sabres don't have another regular season game until February because of a string of tournaments they are participating in, with the first coming this weekend in Drumheller. The Dragons don't play again until they play Nobleford on the January 19th.
