The Youth in Action program funds projects that are both initiated and organized by youth. Ideas and projects of all varieties are supported. The project you think of should be fun, innovative and should somehow benefit your community and/or its residents.
Examples of Youth in Action 2014 Projects funded:
- Boys and Girls Club of Crowsnest Pass: $1,000 to put together a youth talent show showcasing local youth as well as a “Play Day” that encourages families to spend time together.
- St. Andrews Presbyterian Church: $500 to help fund a portable sound system to use when performing at seniors facilities.
- Nicholas Sheran Community School: $1,000 to purchase supplies to create new banners and a mural in the school library that will inspire students to read and visit the library.
- Southern Alberta Art Gallery Association: $1,000 to allow students from LCI to work with SAAG on redesigning a section of downtown Lethbridge with public art.
- Willow Creek Composite High School: $1,000 to create birthday party bags that help children from low-income families celebrate their special days.
- Group Group Youth Society of Pincher Creek: $1,000 to provide seniors with help gardening and scrapbooking their stories through regular visits with local youth.

A Youth Advisory Committee assists the Community Foundation with the granting decisions. This committee will review the applications and provide feedback and suggestions to our Board of Directors.
