It was not the night the RHL Huskies were hoping for, suffering a substantial loss to Nanton at the MCC arena in Pincher Creek on November 29. With the large amount of snow and the cold to come with it the crowd was small and huddled under the heaters as they watched their number 4 ranked Huskies fall to number 1 ranked Nanton with a score of 18-5. Although it wasn't the score they were looking for, the Huskies were still able to put up a fight physically, hitting hard and coming out on top after a fight partway into the second period, despite having only 4 extra skaters on the bench, but they were not able to keep up with the relentless offence that the Palominos brought to the rink.

Braeden Claringbull was in net for the depleted Huskies, who had a small bench of 9 against a full Palominos bench.  He kept the Huskies in the game for most of the first period, but after a few good saves the small team was getting tired and started to slip. The team mustered up some offensive headway through the efforts of Blair Goodreau with 1 goal and 1 assist and Mason Bond with 2 goals. A fight between Nanton’s assistant captain Greg Martin and the Huskies' Steve Yellowhorn got the crowd into the game partway into the second period. While Martin held his own for a while it was clear to the crowd and Yellowhorn that he ended up winning the fight. They may have been outscored, but the Huskies challenged the top team by scoring the most amount of goals against them this season in a single game than any other team yet this year.

The Huskies hope to learn from this defeat and look forward to their next game, coming this Friday where they visit Kainai looking for that second win to advance ahead of Kainai in the standings.
